Seven Royal holidays in a span of six years! No wonder all Royal resort properties feel like our second home; especially Haathi Mahal. Our most recent holiday there was absolutely fabulous, but then it is not surprising. All our holidays with royal are wonderful! The resorts are well maintained, the rooms are clean, the restaurants offer very good food … and we all love splashing in the pools the whole day.!

Every time that we book our holiday, we request the resort to give us a pool facing room and the wonderful staff at the resort always try to help us get it. It’s a gesture that makes us feel very special.

Last year, after all these wonderful holidays, we upgraded our membership to the Imperial and this time we stayed in the Imperial Villa.
The interiors of the villa are very tastefully done up and the big sized refrigerator and microwave are a welcome relief for any family travelling with kids.

My only regret though, is not being able to attend the yoga classes and the swimming lessons during our stay there. Being on a holiday, waking up that early seems blasphamy!

Next on our travel list - Royal Bali Beach Club, Jimbaran Bay. It looks sooooooo awesome in the pictures, I really want to travel there now. And of course, our annual Goan sejourns will continue.

Looking forward to years and years of such great holidays with Royal,

Cheers...

Our Holiday at Royal LighthouseVillas at Boat Lagoon

Sitting on our balcony looking over the lagoon after a long flight from the UK we indulged in a drink and a short walk within the marina to see what was happening in the local area and getting our bearings.

There was so much going on within the marina complex – we had interesting walks we could take and visit the local fruit and veg market - not to mention the restaurants...

Some days later we met an Australian couple around the super, clean swimming pool and gym area and the staff organised a day tour of the island for us all, which included exotic temples, wonderful bays, and seeing how the businesses and people had recovered after the devastating effects of the tsunami.

Generally, we initially explored the island with a driver who was a member of the Royal staff and he provided us with details of all the
places of interest for us to go back to visit at our own pace and we were then able to use local buses and taxis to revisit these areas
and enjoy them at our leisure. Every beach we went to was pristine and the water quality was amazing with numerous superb seafood
restaurants all at excellent prices with the service both welcoming and courteous.

One evening we visited the Fantasia Theme Park – an extraordinary show which finished quite late in the evening but was an absolute “must see”. Our most memorable trip, however, was by speed boat to Phi Phi island. It was such a day of excitement, views, swimming and we were looked after very well both on the boat and in and around the island and here again, the food was “local”, plentiful and delicious and we enjoyed a fantastic day and wonderful memory.

James Bond island was also worth taking a trip to – even just for the wonderful boat ride.

We both can say that the two weeks we spent at the Royal Lighthouse Villas was super both for relaxation or visiting places of interest with wonderful tours to take advantage of and trips and scenery to take your breath away. It was a holiday and island we thoroughly enjoyed and can’t wait to return again - which we will....

We all need time to enjoy the finer aspects of life and there is no better time to do that, than when taking holidays.

As a family man myself, living in a world where these days we all seem to have to work extra hard, I believe that we therefore cherish, all the more, the simple pleasures in life as well as any quality time we manage to spend with the family...
